Alice in the citadel forest reminded me of Over the Garden Wall’s Eldelwood trees and the Beast. The souls waiting for a new world to come like they given up on their old one becoming part of the forest. It wouldn’t surprise if these were connected since both this book and the show are re-tellings of Dante’s Divine Comedy. I wouldn’t know how close they are to Dante’s because for some reason I keep engaging in media that reference it but never reading the book.

I’ve connected the two dots! I didn’t connected shit idk
