*If you don't know what HRCYED is, it's the Hardest Reading Challenge You'll Ever Do. It spans the whole year, from july 7th 2026 to july 6th 2027. I made a post with all the details over here earlier this year.
You can of course join anytime. There's the normal challenge (75 to 150 books needed to finish) and a simpler version with only 25 books needed. There's even a kids and teens version.*
Sorry everyone, I completely forgot to post last Sunday. How is August going? What are you/have you been reading?
If you participate in the qwest for this month (blood on the cover or something frozen on the cover) how is it going?
My August was all over the place so far. But I read 3 fantastic books so I cannot complain! You Are Eating an Orange. You Are Naked by Sheung-King (literary), The Burn Line by Jonathan Sims (horror) and Paradise Rot by Jenny Hval (literary horror?). All were 4.5 stars and absolute bangers. I also finished a 5 stars nonfiction audiobook with Heal The Beasts by Philipp Schott about the history of veterinary medicine. That one would make for a great recommendation to someone who's just dipping their toes into nonfictions.
On the less bright side of the month, I dnfed my first 2 choices for the qwest :( So that was a lot of time wasted! I am halfway through Snow by Ronald Malfi though and it's really good so far. I can barely put it down
Tell us about your progress and current reads!
