My friend told me to read this before the shadow and bone series and let me tell you thank god she did, because if I had started with the OG series I would have never made it to SOC. SOC is just miles better written and not as trope-y as its "predecessor." I loved this book, I love the morally gray characters, the heist, the chemistry, all of it! *chefs kiss*

This book still ranks in my top 5 favourite books since I read it in 2017. The twist on superheroes, morally gray characters, dark academia-ish, and I do love a good time-jump that's not too hard to follow... Anyway I just found it so well-written with so many good quotes and I can't wait for book 3 !
