If you liked Alice by Christina Henry i’d suggest checking her other works, (maybe some could be added to this list?) i’d say she’s one of my favourite authors, but be warned a lot of her work is more gritty and dark lol.. The Mermaid i’d say is a solid read, and i’d say it isn’t that dark (and compared to Alice it’s nowhere near as dark in content) Also maybe some would say they aren’t proper retellings, in a sense that maybe they are more loosely inspired by? you can see the clear link to specific tales but I wouldn’t go into them thinking they are focused on that, which is what I love! the story’s are so unique in their retellings! ✨✨🧚 The exception may be “Lost Boy” as that one seems like the closest to a proper retelling and could be added to this list? (but I can’t say 100% as I haven’t read that one.) 💚📚

I am over the moon to share that the app is officially live on both iOS and Android!!
We've quite literally poured our blood, sweat and (lots of) tears into the app development over the past 9 months and we could not be more thrilled for everyone to experience it!
We're still being indexed in app store search so you may have to scroll to find us, or type in Pagebound: Social Book Tracker. Here's links to iOS and Android: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/pagebound-social-book-tracker/id6751526412 https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=co.pagebound.app
There are quite a few improvements and new features in the app, including:
This is the first release, so there will be many more additions and improvements to come. (PS for Android users: we're aware of two bugs related to library imports from Goodreads/Storygraph, and issues with editing read dates - these have already been resolved and are pending Google approval for release.)
We owe a huge thank you to our beta testers who worked diligently over the last month to report hundreds of bugs and help us get the app prepared for release. A huge round of applause to them.
We hope you love the app as much as we do; it definitely makes engaging on PB so much more convenient and fun. If you have a great experience with the app, we'd love if you'd consider supporting us through Pagebound Royalty; Lucy and I have worked for $0 over the past year to bring the app and website to fruition, and have been covering business costs with our savings accounts. Your contribution means we can continue to work full-time on Pagebound without influence from investors or advertisers, and keep Pagebound 100% for readers by readers. Thank you so much to all the Royalty who have already contributed; it truly means the world to us and keeps Pagebound online!
ok now go download the app and tell us what you think!
Happy Reading, Jennifer & Lucy
PS - leaving us a review in app stores also helps tremendously :)

I just downloaded it from the App Store. I couldn’t figure out how to post from the app, but it’s live now!

Hi everyone! I have recently decided to spine train my books before reading them, but... Apparently I don't know how to it because the spine still cracks either during the spine training or during reading lol Do you have any tips?

For October, I'm really in the mood to read something that has a spooky/Halloween vibe to it... But I am a BABY. When I say I want lightly spooky, I mean VERY. FREAKING. LIGHTLY.
Every time I try to read something for Halloween, I end up having nightmares. I want something more serious than Letter to Three Witches but less creepy than House of Cotton.
Anyone have good wimpy Halloween recs??

So, I was going to start a bookstagram account where I read ARCs and connect with authors. That was until I realized I’m a mood reader. I don't feel always feel like reading the ARCs when it's time. So long for that idea. 😂

Very excited to announce that you can now download the app on Android!! Google Play approved us this afternoon :) we're still waiting on Apple and will make a big release announcement once both platforms are available.
If you're on Android, we'd love if you give us a download and leave a review. In typical non conformist PB fashion I do find it hilarious that we are available on Android before Apple; a karmic win for all our Android baddies.
Can't wait to see what everyone thinks of the app!!

I was very happy to leave a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ review of the Android app, since I've been using it since the beta opened and absolutely adore it.
Edit to add: Here's the link in case you are having trouble finding it in the Play store (I did).
Further update: L&J are actually still waiting for Pagebound to be approved in the Canadian version of the Play Store, and I was likely able to sneak on in there because I was part of the beta program. Hopefully approval for all regions comes soon!

These lesbians! But then something is written where I go, "Yeah, a man wrote this..."
Post from the The Honey Witch forum
“A Honey Witch provides women with choice-something they are all too often denied.” that quote sums up a lot of the storyline as of now, i’m obsessed!
i’m so early into this book, haven’t gotten to the romance yet and it’s already so amazing, the world is so magical and cozy yet with a hint of danger…the world building it’s self is so clear and real! so far this is a fantastic book!
🐝✨🧙♀️
also I have started this in the perfect season, autumn (fall) turning, with glimpses of sun and chill in the air.
I don’t think any of this is spoilers but please let me know if you think it could be! happy reading everyone 🩵✨📚

A collection of the pilot books for popular series, for those of us who love to follow a character's journey for as long as an author will let us! Some of the below series have heavily debated starting points and book read orders--in those cases the pilot was selected based on what seems to be the most popular approach.

I just started to read a Sherlock Holmes re-telling, specifically "A Study in Scarlet Women", and it reminded me of how much I appreciate re-tellings in general (and of Sherlock Holmes). These stories have obviously been re-told many times not only in books, but e.g. with the BBC Sherlock Show. I have also read the "Young Sherlock" series about Sherlock, but as a kid, aimed at younger teens, and "A study in Emerald", another re-telling of "A Study in Scarlet". I think it's so interesting to discover how characters could act at another age or time, or being another gender, or in a different universe (probably a factor that plays into my appreciation of AU fanfiction haha).
Anyways, I'm curious about re-tellings of popular (or not so well-known) stories that you love and why!

I thought it would be kind of fun to see where in the world people are, and then folks can make friends with people from the same countries/areas (if they way, not pressure obviously).
I'll go first. I'm Canadian, and more specifically I am in British Columbia (Vancouver Island if you want to get fancy).
Try to find your country and join that thread!
Everyone else?

I haven't really thought about it until now, but one of the things that makes Pagebound so different is that on any other social media site, interactions on really old posts are kinda strange, right? Like I'd be weirded out if someone suddenly liked one of my insta posts from a year ago. But on Pagebound, I HOPE I'm getting interactions on posts a year from now because it means someone else is reading a book I once read and is hanging out on the forum for that book! I don't know, I just think that's really cool, and I hope no one is ever dissuaded from commenting or interacting with a forum because the posts on it are older ❤️
