  • The Paradise Problem
    Thoughts from 85% (Chapter 31)

Omg, I actually love Anna as a main character. I feel like usually female protagonists, especially with the kind of personality of Anna (she's not fully "quirky girl", but there's definitely aspects that fall into that, and her falling to humour a lot as a defence mechanism in serious moments) are pretty emotionally immature, but she is so aware. I love this development in her character as well from naive to being able to see the situation and explain it so clearly. Also, the emotional maturity of when she's trying to show Liam he's being gaslit to which he tells her she doesn't know his family, to not argue against him and instead admit "You're right, I don't. However..."

  • Practice Makes Perfect (When in Rome, #2)
Is this narrated by an NPR host?

I'm about 50% of the way through the audiobook and I cannot get over the feeling that the male narrator sounds *just* like Kai Rhyssdal from Marketplace on NPR. Am I crazy!?! Has anyone else thought this!?! I'm enjoying the book but it's a little tough to reconcile the descriptions of the tattooed "bad boy" hero and the smooth voice that should be saying "the Dow Jones today..."

Light fast steamy read with an age gap and some praise kink.

Fun small-town sibling series with a small mystery that's mostly in the background.

I enjoyed this as the second in the series and a pretty light romantic suspense.

  • Basketball Romance Recs

I'm a huge sports fan and love reading the sports aspects of sports romances (I haven't read many sports fiction books otherwise, though I'm sure there are some good ones I'm just unaware of). I've read hockey, American football, soccer, and baseball romances, but the only basketball romance I remember coming across is Kennedy Ryan's Hoops series, which is already on my TBR, and I cannot wait to read it. I trust that woman with my life. Does anyone have any basketball romance recs, especially books that actually have a grasp of basketball, and it's not just a convenient way to say the guy is tall and muscular? I'm also open to just straight basketball fiction without the romance as long as it's not giving Written by a Man™️, if that makes sense. And while we're on the topic, does anyone have any sports romance recs in general that focus a bit on the sport as well and not just the relationship?

This was sweet insta-love with royalty, with a dash of dramatic danger. Strong Cinderella vibes.

This was a sweet romance between the weather girl and the sports guy at the local TV station. They both have imperfections and pasts. Them learning each other and the mental health discussion provided enough depth to make this feel like a little more than pure fluff.

This book had a great premise and I liked the characters. I generally love Kylie Scott's books and wanted a little more from this one. I needed there to be a reason these two were so loyal and believed in each other so much, and it wasn't quite there and wasn't really tested.
