This book didn't quite achieve what it wanted to but I still felt that the twist was a good one. And it kind of addressed a lot of the complaints I see: how could Zelu write a best-selling sci-fi when she hasn't written any? How could she get a 7-figure advance? How could she get offers of the exo & going to space? Well, because SHE is the fiction – an idealised version of a human based on Ngozi's narration of her grandma. And everytime we discuss the matter, the creation goes both ways. It's audacious to say the least – just like Zelu.
