Books where over-indulgence and over-consumption are central themes.

Historical fiction's haunted, feral cousins. Folk horror, Gothic uncanny, mythic retellings, and formally strange books that make the past feel alive, weird, and slightly dangerous.

Looking for truths about goodness, innocence, and the divine through destruction, canibalism, blood-sucking, that sort of stuff.

Gruesome, transgressive, & affronting books with thematic and intellectual substance!

Why read a cozy book, when instead you can feel unsettled yet somewhat validated while reading of another women’s journey through the horrors of life?

From a slow descent into madness, covering up murder for siblings, accidentally joining a cult, to insurance fraud over taxidermy - this list covers it all!!

These books contain cannibalism and this list contains spoilers
