I have grappled with this list for a long time, and finally I established a set of rules and criteria for the titles that would earn their place on this list.

Unlike my other lists, this one is NOT objective. Normally, I am willing to add a book and recommend it to others even if I didn't like it; just because I didn't enjoy it doesn't mean other people wouldn't! However, for this list my standards are high. If I didn't like the book, it's not going on here. 3.5 stars or above.

Also: only books that I have personally read. There are many books on my TBR that will probably end up on this list, but they must first meet my expectations for quality and quantity (of cannibalism).

So, if you don't see a certain title on this list that you think should be included, it is likely either because I haven't read it yet or I didn't like it. PLEASE leave recommendations regardless!

Another issue I had with trying to build this list was non-fiction: there are several incredible non-fiction titles that are, in my opinion, quintessential cannibalism reads, but I decided to keep this one to fiction as I already have a non-fiction cannibalism list.

In summary: of all the cannibalism books I've read, these are the best and bloodiest. Cannibalism is either a central/primary plot point, or is the catalyst of, or results in, the climax of the story. You'll mostly find horror, some fantasy, some graphic novels, a play or two, etc.. Bon appetit

If this was a Quest I’d have an insta-Badge. Nicely played, tea ☕️
