An on-going attempt to track Asian authors in my Interested/TBR (and hopefully Finished) categories. Books are generally fiction/lit fic/fantasy with some memoirs. Authors span West to East Asia, the Asian diaspora, and mixed-race folx.

Requirements:

1. The Mc(s) is a tricksters or unreliable narrator who spends most of the book lying to, bluffing or otherwise misleading others or themselves.

2. They would continue lying even if they didn’t have to either they can’t help it or enjoy the game too much.

3. This causes situations that get unpredictable, chaotic or even completely ridiculous as the characters dodge or face consequences for their actions.

Books with neurodivergent MCs across various genres so you can find them in your favorite one.

Neurodivergent rep here includes autism, adhd, ocd or dyslexia. In addition the term neurodivergent also includes anyone who’s neurological processing works in a way that isn’t considered typical; such as various personality disorders, other sensory issues and depending on who you ask also depression, ptsd, and more. I’ve included all here when I find them.

I'm a human. Just like you. I walk like you, talk like you...I'm just like you...Right? Books where a main character is not entirely human and/or is an alien, monster, spirit, eldritch horror, etc. who has disguised themself as a human. Do they want to be human? Inspired by Women's history month and my local library! Ever get annoyed when headlines include the man's full name and then 'so&so's wife'? Then this is the list for you! These are books that include "wife" in the title and are often about a lot more complex and dynamic women than just 'someone's wife'. open to recommendations

Tried to include a range of diverse genres/culture/background/time period! Though I haven't read them all, I did look up every book and evaluated for consideration.

Horrors and thrillers set in winter (21st December to 20th March, but I will count earlier December as winter too to make things easier) or in a really cold place that reminds of wintertime.
