A re-read of an old favorite. Hopefully the movie will come out sometime in the next 100 years and after realizing that I didn't remember any details, I thought it would be a good time to read again (via audiobook this time round).
I definitely think the book has held up since I read it in high school. I was still enthralled in the story and didn't want to stop. Can't wait to re-read the rest of the series!
This was a reread for me and maybe it was the nostalgia because I just ATE it up. I love that as a pre-teen I was so invested in the action and I remember thinking Tally was a total badass. Now reading it in my 30s I see how Westerfeld successfully and subtlely comments on our culture's obsession with beauty at any cost. I feel like in a world where kids in their 20s feel like they have to get filler, this one is more relevant than ever (and a wildly fun action-packed plot).
