A collection of non-fiction books that touch upon the stories of the natural world, and all the people who live among it. (Or, as an astronomer once said: "I love stories, and the story of our universe is the grandest one we have") Always open to suggestions!

Non-fiction books that should make you: Re-contextualize your place in the world. Reassess the framework of your life. Strive to be radically kind. Pursue positive change. Become an anarchist, anit-capitalist, anti-fascist, anti-racist, etc. || My list is very North American centric and I would love global recommendations ||

Nature is Fluid & Interconnected: A perspective blending Queer Theory (challenging norms around gender/sexuality) with Ecology (the study of relationships in nature). Queer ecology questions assumptions that human norms (like heterosexuality or fixed binaries) are the only "natural" way. It invites us to see nature, ourselves, and our relationships with more nuance and complexity.

Emphasis on non-fiction, history, and resistance narratives from and about indigenous and native tribes of North and South America.

Shorter books (under 200 pages) that are part of at least one quest. Many are also in the public domain, making them easily accessible when you want to grind for that next badge.

Book that have an element you’ll miss out on if you read as an audiobook, whether it’s fun formatting or illustrations
