Queer Ecology
Nature is Fluid & Interconnected: A perspective blending Queer Theory (challenging norms around gender/sexuality) with Ecology (the study of relationships in nature). Queer ecology questions assumptions that human norms (like heterosexuality or fixed binaries) are the only "natural" way. It invites us to see nature, ourselves, and our relationships with more nuance and complexity.

Just got the most exciting flashback to when I tried to write a philosophy paper on the relationship between phenomenology and ecological ethics. Thank you for curating. This sounds like the liberal arts college seminar of my dreams.

Oh this is the best list đđđđđ may I recommend Entangled Life by Merlin Sheldrake, the entire book isn't about queerness, but his approach to fungi is one that fully fits this perspective and there is a chapter dedicated to how flawed humans' comprehension of gender and relationships is when one considers all of nature and especially fungi, that inspired me to go look for more books about queer ecology (I didn't even know it was a thing before reading this book)
Thank you and I'm so glad you found the genre and are enjoying!!!! I actually excluded Entangled Life intentionally when I first created the list but I'm going to have to muddle over my own bias. I appreciate the themes and relatability of the book, however, I have concerns with anyone associated with The Telepathy Tapes (Merlin Sheldrake's relationships to Rupert Sheldrake and Paul Stamets both featured on the podcast). While I appreciate Sheldrake's contributions, I wanted to prioritize queer and Indigenous authors for this list and will likely need to read myself before I feel confident in including it as a recommendation.
