An on-going attempt to track Asian authors in my Interested/TBR (and hopefully Finished) categories. Books are generally fiction/lit fic/fantasy with some memoirs. Authors span West to East Asia, the Asian diaspora, and mixed-race folx.

On the liberation of youth. Children are an oppressed class - these books discuss various facets of how children are oppressed, their own experiences, and their liberation.

A picture is worth a thousand words, and sometimes that applies to comic books. What could be more effective in learning the history of resistance than via comic books? Especially if you happen to have grown up hearing "comic books aren't REAL books." 🙄

A collection of acclaimed classic and contemporary Francophone literature. I chose to classify as Francophone rather than French in order to include authors who wrote in French but were/are not of French nationality, especially authors from colonised countries. Non-exhaustive as I'm not an expert I am keeping this list to one book per author but suggestions very welcome! :)

These are nonfiction recs that may be good for people just wanting to dip their toes into nonfiction.
