horror books that revolve around religious ideals or institutions from the mainstream to the mythic. while the title of this list is derivative of the bible, this focus of this list is not on any one religion or religious group.

Shorter books (under 200 pages) that are part of at least one quest. Many are also in the public domain, making them easily accessible when you want to grind for that next badge.

We should all be reading queer, all year, but this list is full of upcoming queer books of all makes and models coming out in 2026. If you have a rec to add, just please keep in mind we’re looking for 2026 releases!

The real world horror is, of course, homophobia, but in these books we also have, you know, ghosts, monsters, eldritch beings perhaps 🤔 a slasher or two. Haunted houses. The usual suspects 😏

There are some absolutely fantastic sapphic horror lists, and some generally queer ones too, but I looked and I couldn’t find a specifically achillian one, so I figured I’d give it a go!

On the quest to collect badges, sometimes you just need a shorter read for a palate cleanse. I made this list as a resource for quicker reads in between heavy hitters - all books listed below are 1) included in at least one PageBound quest and 2) are 200 pages or less. Any and all leads are welcome!

Please note: This will not include books only found in readalongs or limited quests, as I want this list to reflect books that satisfy always-available quests.
