Recs if you like The Miseducation of Cameron Post...

in progress - taking suggestions

Basically, a huge list of every book I ever heard features sapphic / lesbian characters.

I have not read all of these, so I cannot be sure of the amount of the time on page of the sapphic characters or of the quality of the books.

Some of these I do not plan to read at all, since they are not my style. If you feel like a book doesn't belong here, let me know.

For my favs / read, check out my other lists & shelves.

Don't shoot the messenger.

All the lesbians books I can find. If you have any book you want me to add please comment ❤️

a collection of books that were banned in the US simply for being lesbian/sapphic. i thought it would be fun to put them together in one place and share them so more people can find these gems and read them 🙂‍↕️💗 enjoy! note: i will be updating this list as i come across more titles!

All the YA Sapphic books that have been published (or at least most of them). The books in this list have at least one main character who is either a lesbian, bisexual or pansexual. I only put the first books in series.

books from all US states and territories. asking for recommendations! these books must a) be written by an author with a strong connection to the state or territory and b) take place largely in the state or territory. i want to try to prioritize, whenever possible, underrepresented voices / voices that america’s regime tries to silence.

please lmk if any of these authors or texts aren’t good representation.

i will comment a list with each state/territory + its associated book!

Books on my TBR with LGBTQIA+ characters or themes.

Books that feature religious trauma, cults, or high control groups that I've read or are on my tbr

YA fiction about teens struggling to fit into (or leave!) their religions or faith communities.

All of these are from the list that Texas lawmaker Matt Krause in October of 2021 tried and in many cases succeeded to get banned from classrooms and school libraries. There are quite a few interesting and odd choices in there which is part of why I wanted to share this list on here. Not necessarily recommendations but there are some pretty good books on here. As well as a lot of textbooks

Because of the lesbian ex-tradCath that I am, here's a list of mostly fiction books uniting Christianity in its various forms with queerness, where both are large themes. Disclaimer: I have not read all of the books here, so if there are some that have been mislabeled, please tell me! Suggestions are always welcome!

The list of LGBTQ books used as an excuse for political prosecution. After the office of a publishing house was searched by the police, a list made by that publishing house surfaced online. It contained several LGBTQ titles published previously and a request for booksellers to dispose of them. The list made clear a reason behind the search – selling LGBTQ content (that is labeled extremist in Russia). It was later confirmed by newly started lawsuit against the staff of the publishing house

Queer books about overcoming religious trauma

In October 2021, Texas State Representative Matt Krause initiated an inquiry targeting a list of approximately 850 books in Texas public schools, alleging they could cause "discomfort, guilt, anguish, or any other form of psychological distress" regarding race or sex. The list disproportionately targeted LGBTQ+ topics, race/racism, and sex education.

This is my project to read through this list for myself - utilizing my local library system for access to these titles. Follow the journey or join along!

Books that would help educate children about various important history topics, social justice issues, and people different from themselves (ie disabled, queer, or neurodivergent people).

Recommendations are always welcome! Fiction and nonfiction are fine. I would prefer more modern book recommendations. I’d love if you could explain your reasoning for recommending a bit!

Summer sapphic books list!!

I have NOT read most of these this is just mostly my tbr for this summer. Let me know if you have any more recommendations 🫶

Titles with full character's name. I haven't read all of those books, and I'm open to suggestions.

Inspired by Autostraddle's Queer Books Across America list

A smattering of Queer stories that are not talked about enough. They aren't all happy endings but they tell important stories. Some YA some Adult - so read the description!

This is a list of books for the Read The States Challenge. Read any on each of the state lists and be awarded the pride of knowing you have read all across the US!
