the ebola crisis

from approx. 2013-2016, ebola outbreaks swept through west africa, causing social and economic devastation and killing over 10,000 people. the severity of it was downplayed largely because it was not happening in the global west. in an effort to learn more about the realities and inequities of disease - i am trying to learn more about historical outbreaks across the globe. i am starting with ebola and this list! always open to suggestions across genres.

Oh my gosh ebola is SO fascinating; I love this list. I don't think this would belong here, but I'd also recommend checking out Richard Preston's other ebola-focused book, The Hot Zone (from the '90s). It's a fantastic read!
