Dangerous Women

'It seemed to me that anything unpredictable was named dangerous by Gods and men alike. But the word UNPREDICTABLE seemed reserved for women alone. A woman they cannot control, whether Goddess or mortal, is a dangerous woman' Hekate by Nikita Gill. A list of "dangerous" women. Please recommend any dangerous women I missed!

I wanted people opinion. Do you think "A Dowry of Blood" by ST Gibson fits? I do, but I am definitely biased, lol.

i would say so, both for Constanta and Magdalena!

That’s such a good question. Both characters were made to be dangerous and strong. And they are for surviving manipulation for a long period of time. But were they considered dangerous? đŸ€” Did Dracula keep them for the sake of safety for himself or others? Were they menaces to society? Damn. I think they were instances that made them dangerous because of the vampirism and the end. I’m going to be thinking about this all day!!

Hope you enjoy the pondering

Some books that come to mind now, Gone Girl, Flynn; Vanity Fair, Thackeray; Les Liaisons Dangereuses, Laclos; The Robber Bride, Atwood; Rebecca, Du Maurier; Carmilla, Le Fanu. Although I'm absolutely in love with Amy (Gone Girl), and probably she doesn't like me including her in the list...

I haven't read any of those, but i'll look into them (both for me and the list)! Thank you

also, i'm really intrigued about Amy now, lol

1

I read gone girl

I think Amy would either love it or hate it to be on this list, depending on her mood lol

2

Love a dangerous baddie! Here are some books I think would fit: The Starving Saints by Caitlin Starling, The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang, Slewfoot by Brom, Winter Harvest by Ioanna Papadopoulou, and Hench by Natalie Zina Walschots

2

How did I not think of Rin?! Thank you!!! I will have to look into the others, because yes I do love a dangerous baddie!

One of us is dead - Jeneva Rose. Sharp objects - Gillian Flynn. Too old for this - Samantha Downing.

Oooo Thanks for the suggestions!

You’re welcome! I just finished “too old for this” a few minutes ago and it was amazing đŸ€Ż I finished “one of us is dead” at the end of last month, and it was also great. It’s been a few years since I read “sharp objects,” but I read it twice within 2 years because of how much I liked it. So I highly recommend all 3 of them now 💯

Good to know! 😁

I would put the Millennium trilogy (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played with Fire, and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest) just because of Lisbeth Salander 💙

Thanks for the suggestion!
