I am so SO sick of settling down to get stuck into a new series only to get hooked on the story, and then getting hit in the face with boobs and so-called "fan service". I don't find the oversexualisation of women and MINORS (of any gender) funny or cute; it's disgusting, and I'm sick of it. This is a safe space for manga with NO sexualisation of women, and recs are very much appreciated!! Pls feel free to gush about your faves in the comments too! (light novel recs are welcome too!)

A friend told me all about Yona and how great the series is that I might just have to try it out myself when I get the time 🩷 Thank you for this list. Most of the times, I try to ignore the overly sexual elements in certain mangas because I just came to accept it as part of the genre is, but I really wish that we can build a community where we don’t have to ignore the discomfort that it brings for us women to see it over and over again
I believe The Promised Neverland could be added here as well, but it’s been a long time since I’ve last read it!
Just added, thank you!
It's been on my tbr for ages, and I have heard nothing but glowing reviews!
I find it so disheartening when I see such gross depictions of women and minors, so I needed to make this list to remind myself that not all mangakas are awful!
Thank you, thank you for this list. I work in a school that wants more manga but we really don't want to include the female sexualisation.
I would worry about that too, especially since I know there are inappropriate depictions of women even in middle-grade manga, so I'm glad I could help give you somewhere to start! I've found that the "cosy" mangas are usually safer so that's always a good genre type to stick to or start with.
