great list!! i've yet to read it but i think His Majesty's Dragon (Temeraire series) by Naomi Novik would be a good fit. dragons used in aerial combat during the Napoleonic Wars.

I LOVE this list! I'm a big fan of historical fiction, but not WW2 (I'm generally more of a 19th century gal), so this is literally THE perfect list for me! Such a great idea!
