I haven't read it yet so I can't personally vouch for it, but from what I've seen The Membranes by Chi Ta-wei might also fit here
Ooh, good catch! I've heard great things about that one and it had crossed my mind but I think I disregarded it because I was looking at the English publication date instead of the initial one (I totally hadn't realized it was initially published in '95). Thanks, I've added it to the list! :D
