Neat idea for a list! I don’t recall much about the book so it may not be what you’re looking for, but I remember stumbling upon a book called Queerfully and Wonderfully Made in a bookstore a few years ago. I believe it was about queerness and Christianity.

While I was looking for this online just now I also found a book called Queer and Christian by Brendan Robertson

thank you so much, will add! i currently live in an area that's very conservative Christian, and was thinking about reading more literature such as this to understand and appreciate the intersections amongst various religions (and maybe subtly recommend these works to enlighten other people) and decided that the PB community might appreciate a list since i couldn't find any !

Oh boy do I have recs!

To start off, the podcast Keeping It 101: A Killjoy's Guide to Religion has a few super solid episodes on this intersection. (Honestly the whole thing was amazing. They stopped making new episodes but I highly recommend the entire podcast if you're interested in diverse religions, intersectionality, and religious theory)

But these are books they've recommended during their episodes on the intersection between queerness and religion: Darius the Great series (fiction) by Adib Khorram Queer Nuns by Melissa Wilcox After the Wrath of God by Anthony Petro Flaming? by Alisha Lola Jones Professing Selves by Afsaneh Najmabadi With Respect to Sex by Gayati Reddy Governing Gender and Sexuality in Colonial India: The Hijra by Jessica Hinchy Reforming Sodom by Heather Rachelle White Borderlands/La Frontera by Gloria AnzaldĆŗa Que(e)rying Religion by Gary David Comstock Appalling Bodies by Joseph Marchal

(Also I have a whole list of all the 200+ books they've recommended on their pod that I could find to upload here if you're interested in other diverse religious scholarly and public works) (They've actually recommended probably over 300 but I couldn't find a bunch because they were so niche)

Also this is a great idea for a list and I can't wait to read these in conjunction with the ones I listed above as a self-led learning unit! Thanks for making this!
