Happy to take suggestions (always!), but I’m going to be choosy about adding to this list (hence only 5 books so far 🙈). I want them to be biographies that also really dive into broader themes. For instance, Night Flyers is about Harriet Tubman but also about liberation theology as practiced by formerly enslaved Black women, and Rebel Sojourner is about Jack Johnson but also the development of racialized masculinity in sports media.
