It does fit perfectly into this list! Animalese please ignore that I hated it, somebody else might love it hahahaha. I also think a lot of Karl Ove KnausgĂ„rd's literature fits here. Solenoid by Mircea CÄrtÄrescu, too!

This is an interesting list! I always thought that I hated stream of consciousness literature because my first experience with it (that I know of) was with Jon Fosse's Septology which I DNF'd, but seeing the hour of the star here makes me reconsider. I suppose I didn't think of it as stream of consciousness while I was reading it

oof I think Septology is possibly the most gruelling version of this (I too DNF'd long ago, might attempt it again one day), but it does vary hugely â as much as the workings of the mind do, I guess! some parts of The Hour of the Star are deffo more stream of consciousness than others.
Septology is truly a mastodon, I'll need to be in a very experimental mood the next time I try it đ.
I like that thought! It's true that stream of consciousness is not going to sound the same for every author (and for every consciousness! Haha), the stream of consciousness in the first part of THTS was very introspective, but also so over the top it was almost funny to me.
I'm actually shocked to find I have more than 44% overlap with this list đ.

Hurricane Season by Fernanda Melchor fits I think. Very gory, and some sentences are like a page and a half long.
