Life starts after your 60s...

I think more books should be about old people getting into shenanigans. There is this small part of the book space with the stories of people who find the meaning of their life or mess others up because they don't care anymore. These are their stories , hilarious, emotional, heartwarming and heartbreaking, each unique...

Hope they make you feel alive!

Lovely list! May I recommend The Old Woman with the Knife by Gu Byeong-mo? It's a Korean litfic that follows a 65 year old killer, as she deals with aging and the pressure to retire from her "industry." There is also a pretty cool film adaptation from 2025!

I haven't read it yet, but I think "The Remarkable Retirement of Edna Fisher" by E.M. Anderson would fit on this list!

I had never heard of it but the description sounds SO fun!

Oh, I love this theme!

You're under no obligation to add this to your list but if you're open to recommendations, The Invisible Women's Club by Helen Paris is a good one with two 'mature' FMCs (one middle aged, one retired) fighting to save an allotment. They get into some shenanigans, but it's mostly about them forging their friendship and finding purpose 😊

There is always space for old ladies making friends here! đŸ€

May I present for your consideration: The Little Old Lady Who Broke All The Rules. Seventy-nine-year-old Martha has decided the Swedish prison system treats people better than the care home she and her friends currently live in, so they decide to pull off an art heist to get themselves arrested.

I swear this should really be a movie. I laughed SO HARD at their antics!
