Chapter 1 was riveting 😅
Or should I say:
01100011 01101000 01100001 01110000 01110100 01100101 01110010 00100000 00110001 00100000 01110111 01100001 01110011 00100000 01110010 01101001 01110110 01100101 01110100 01101001 01101110 01100111
(📎It is actually binary code for ”chapter 1 was riveting”)

I did not think I'd be debating if this book would be my favorite over Kiss of Seduction which was the first book I read in the Court of Chains. It came close but KoS is still top dog for me.
I was so happy to get more Natalya in this book, and enjoyed how she plays mentor to Vex. I did miss Blake and Flea and wouldn't mind to see how they interact with Vex and Angela.
I love the banter and dynamic between Angela and Vex, and how the relationship grows and learn to be vulnerable. I wasn't sure how much I'd like Vex because she came off as just paranoid, obsessive, and a little creepy (because of the whole watching from shadows thing lol) but I ended up loving her snarkiness, the softer side we eventually get to see, feeling for when it came to how incapable and unlovable she felt. I loved how sure of herself and powerful Angela was from the beginning and how she grew when it came to Vex along with her friends Maya and Sam. I also really enjoyed Angelas relationship with her parents and how interested they were in her lovelife lmao.
I haven't read a lot of more romance focused books and honestly not to familar with BDSM, and similar how I felt in KoS when it came to how the author careful approach is how appreciative I feel here. Though I think the kinks are definitely amped up by comparison, I think even if it's something someone not into she makes it easy digest.
And I while Iwill say I there were things that were "not for me" that had me like
