HEYY! Let me ask you, do you always read one book and that book only at a time, or multiple (like me)? Even if I tried, I really just can't stick to only one reading option. I tend to have a few books of different genres in my "currently reading" pile at once (3-5) and that keeps me motivated and consistent, because I can just pick up the book I'm the most in the mood for. Though I haven't met or seen that many other people like this, I've even had friends say that they cannot do that because they would lose focus, but for me it's just so natural, like doing multiple projects at once (sure it takes way longer to finish them all haha). I don't really have a problem with this habit of mine, I just wonder if there's people like me out there!

What the actual heck. I loved this.
I was not expecting this from an arc. Honestly the entire book was really good, I wanted to read it often. But I think even if the entire book was trash apart from that last chapter alone, I still wouldâve given it 5 stars.
Itâs pretty short, but the author did a great job in so many ways. Itâs well written, beautifully written really. The characters are really raw and real. It seems incredibly realistic of what could really happen to a mom of a child on the spectrum. As a dystopian lover, I really loved a story that considers this kind of family with her sonâs needs being a very real thing to work through in the worse of times. I think we donât get to see this kind of narrative in dystopians a lot. Whether that be mental/physical disabilities, neurodivergence, or really anything considered different from a ânormalâ person or ânormalâ human.
I think individuals that have a basic understanding or experience of autism will emotionally connect with the story more, but anyone could really enjoy this beautiful story. Beautiful, emotional, raw, thoughtful, but also with plenty of action and suspense sprinkled in.
Please read the synopsis and if any bit of it sounds like something you could get into, go for it!

edit: my level ended up changing not long after I posted this :)
yesterday I (finally!) surpassed 1,500 points but I didnât level up? I checked the FAQ and it still says that level 5 starts at 1,500 points. I also found people who are, like me, just barely over 1,500 and they are level 5. has this happened to anyone else? itâs not that big of a deal, I was just excited to finally get there and ended up a little disappointed.
