Every so often I think about the novels I read a kid. I'm typically reminded of series that I read into my adolescence with much of Rick Riordan populating those memories, as well as the odd flicker of Eragon (typically as its movie adaptation). On the rare occasion though, The Ranger's Apprentice pops up, and reminds me of how much I loved the series despite how little staying power it has. Its just such a strong memory despite how uncommonly I mull over the experience, so I was curious to hear of any similar experiences that others might have. Are there other books that feel forgotten to both time and your own memories, but still hold a special place in your heart?

This is not aimed to hate on Romantasy! I enjoy a good romantasy book! But I really want to read a cool fantasy book that focuses more on everything else and the romance be more of a subplot (for example hunger games, deadly education, ninth house, blood over bright haven, etc.) My struggle is, itās very hard for me to get into Fantasy books that are super complex and dense (like game of thrones or lord of the rings for example). I generally read magical realism or dark academia, but would love to get more into straight up Fantasy. But most of the Fantasy books I have read lately that are not as dense have been Romantasy. Please help lol ā¤ļø Also, if any recs are for male authors, Iād love it if the women are written really well. Iāve heard good things about how Brandon Sanderson writes women, I just havenāt tried any of his books and donāt even know where to start.

I read this book about a year ago now, but recently joined this website and wanted to get on here and say a bit about this book. The original reason that I read this, was because it was all over my FYP so I gave in to book tok, and placed a hold on it at my library (it took like 8 weeks for me to get it though lol). SO i read the book, and I loved it. I loved all the characters, the plot, magic system, banter and you could cut the tension with a Kinfe. This book got me into romantisy, and romance in general. Before I read this book, for some reason, I hated romance or romance subplots (now i hardly read any books without romance lol) but this book rlly got me into them. I had tried to read romantisy before and read books like once upon a broken heart, shadow and bone and the cruel prince but I either DNFed or hated them. This book introduced me to the genre and is the perfect book for anyone wanting to get into romantisy or reading in general. I have read the rest of the series, and it just gets better and better. Also little side note, i recently got the chance to meet lauren roberts, and she is such a genuinely nice person!! She had been signing books all day when I met her, and she was so nice to me even though she was probably very tired. Anyway this is a great series, and I personaly think it is one of the best boktok books. Anyway that was a rlly long rant lol.

I liked this one, but it was really slow moving. It took me a good couple of weeks to finish it. I was also really confused with all the made up words. Byt the wait was worth it. The worldbuilding was great and the idea was really unique.
