“I could excuse violent crime but I drew the line at being cornered into admitting my own shortcomings” I’m ON THE GROUNDDDD. So funny

    😐

Can we please take a moment to appreciate this book cover? Absolutely beautiful!! Phenomenal!! No notes. Both the cover and the description of this book really drew me in. A “regency” romance with a Time Machine to transport people from the past to the future is definitely unique and the first of its kind that I’ve ever encountered/read.

So I have mixed feelings on this one. The intro with the world building, which usually intimidates me, was actually so fun to read. You can tell the author put a lot of heart and soul into creating the detailed world of Neves. Reading about Dominic absolutely raging when brought to the present then turning into soft overprotective smol boy the minute he meets Rayna I ATE UP. But pretty much after that I stopped eating :(

It became repetitive very quickly. Miscommunication, jealousy, intimacy, and repeat. I really loved that Reyna’s character is strong willed and independent but it got to a point where I was overrrr the self sabotage. And multiple times I had to remind myself that Dominic was from a time period where men were actually worse than they are now (somehow) bc he actually said/did some crazyyyy stuff. It was very insta-lusty which isn’t my fav trope, but I struggled finding a connection outside of that. I feel that some scenes in the book could’ve been either combined or removed altogether because aside from the repetitiveness, the length of the book also had me struggling to finish it. Overall, the book had a really interesting foundation but needed a bit better execution.

Thank you to Grey’s Promo for this arc in exchange for an honest review!
