Wow I can’t believe how much I loved this book! I saw the movie when it came out and I loved it, and I tried my best to not compare the book to it too much. I had no idea how much had been left out! I believe this is also my first Katherine Center book and I can see why people love her writing so much. This book was very thought-provoking, funny, and had my feet kicking so many times haha. It’s definitely one of my favorite books I’ve read this year! :)

WOW this book was so fun to read! I was recommended by my Pathfinder friends to read it and it did NOT disappoint! Carl and Donut were such a hilarious duo and their dynamic was honestly so wholesome. I’m glad they didn’t butt heads too much and just got to working together as soon as they could. At times the plot felt a little repetitive, but the whole premise and vibe of the dungeon world more than made up for it. I can’t wait to see what other adventures they go on in the following books!

Yep. This book definitely holds up as my favorite in the series (as far as this reread goes thus far). On a personal note, it's interesting reading it back after 10 years and reflecting how far I've come since then, especially since this version of Harry is “frozen” in time, meanwhile I got to heal and grow as a person since then. I wish I could give Harry a hug and tell him everything will be okay (is that considered a spoiler? Oops lol). I may relate more to the adult characters at this point in my life, but that connection to Harry will always be there.

The story itself is still amazing and immersive and magical! I love seeing how the world continues to grow as the characters grow up and seeing how Harry starts to connect with others outside the Golden Trio. Once again, there was so much I forgot happened in this book, but it's always a joy to rediscover those parts of the story.

On to the next one!
