I love Emily Henry, she’s one of my favorite romance author. I wanted to give my ranking of her work after finishing her latest book and see how people feel about all of her books. Anyway, here’s my ranking: 1. Beach Read This is by far my favorite book of hers. I love January’s outlook on the world, even after heartbreak and grief she is still a romantic and an optimist. I love Gus, my favorite love interest. He is down bad for January. I really liked the cult sub plot and made me love this book immediately. It was almost a blend of a literary and a romance book. This book always gives me a reset when I read it. Can’t wait for the next reread. 2. People We Meet on Vacation I love this book and I’m sad that a lot of people dislike it. I love Poppy and Alex. Their relationship is almost tragic. Poppy might be my favorite main character. She is a lot at times but it made her feel like a real person. I love Alex. He so clearly loves and cares about Poppy. Probably my most reread book of hers. 3. Happy Place I loved this one. I’ve only read it once but remember being emotionally drained and loving it when I finished it. I loved Harriet’s journey and found her growth to be very relatable. I’m also a sucker for second chance romance and loved the chemistry between Harriet and Wyn. This is my favorite book cover as well, I love the pink. 4. Funny Story Very fun and cute. I love Miles and Daphne and their grumpyxsunshine romance. I loved Daphne’s growth in learning to make friends and struggling with that. I enjoyed this one but didn’t love it as much as her other ones. 5. Book Lovers I know this is a lot of people’s favorite EmHen books but it’s not mine. I really love Charlie, he truly is one of the best love interests in her universe. I struggle with Nora and being in her point of view. I didn’t find it interesting or endearing that Nora had to learn that her sister is an adult that can take care of herself even though she has kids. I did love the setting and the subversive plot of city girl in a small town but not my favorite protagonist. 6. Great Big Beautiful Life This is my least favorite of hers and only book I’ve given below a 2 star rating. I really liked the concept of GBBL and with a bit more editing and maybe even a longer book length this could’ve been great. Alice and Hayden don’t have a lot of chemistry and their romance was boring, which was surprising from an Emily Henry read. I wish we saw more of the romance between Margaret Ives and Cosmo Sinclair. It was very underdeveloped.
