This is an easy going introduction to churchy things (primarily of the episcopal kind) using geeky things as explanations and examples. I enjoyed it, but for me the explanations with fewer references to geek culture worked best (I'm probably more of a church geek than a proper geek geek then, idk). My favourite part was probably the detailed explanation of the vestments.

"We have joy and justice on our side. And berries."
This short book talks about how we should centre our economy around reciprocity and gratitude rather than accumulation, and how wealth and security should be tied to relationships rather than (attempted!) self-sufficiency, using the serviceberry as a tool for explanation. It works!

Oh Dear top contributors, hear me as I plead my case! 😊 Good, evil, misunderstood or popular, I just love reading about witches! I've noticed that there's many lists on them, but not (yet?) a quest! Of course quests take time and energy to make, so I know I'm asking for a lot, but girl, it would be the happiest day of that year! Thanks for reading! I hope I'm not alone!

Do you find yourself not wanting to read books because they are overhyped or tiktok viral?
So okay here am I: I read a lot, and in in recent years I'm reading more and more indie and going for the more unknown books trying to find hidden gems. BUT, but I obviously also read traditionally published books, and especially when they are overhyped or extremely famous, I'm skeptical. For example, I don't really like Mistborn or SJM (I know both completely different things, and I do not have a reason other than: I just don't like them). On the other hand I adored Godkiller and I'm really loving The Tainted Cup atm. So I'm torn between the fear of missing out and reading the next hyped bland thing that tastes of nothing (to me, no shame if you like a book I didn't like).
How do you deal with the struggle?? 🙈😅

I need T. Kingfisher to write the next book in this series ASAP

Compared with the other three, the storyline in Paladin's Faith felt like it was lacking focus at times (or was that me lacking focus? I'm unsure). Was it a little on the slow side at times? I liked it better towards the end when it had a clearer direction.
I wasn't as bedazzled by the characters, again compared with the other three, but that doesn't mean there's anything wrong with them, they're just competing with so many great characters in the series, and I didn't vibe with Marguerite in Paladin's Grace either.
However, there was a point in the book near the end that completely saved the whole thing for me. Just a beautiful moment which wrecked me a little bit. (ok, a lot) (For the curious: it's the end of chapter 52. Probably my favourite part in the whole series.)
My biggest problem now is this: I know there are more books set in the same universe, but I need more broken paladins! (And more of the bishop ofc!)
