I would rate this a 2.5/3 ⭐️. I believe there is potential to this series and I want to see where Jasmine Mas will go with the storyline. I feel like it really picked up during the last 30% and left me wanting more, I will definitely be picking up the second book. If you are looking for a fluffy, light and bright novel, this is not it. All the characters including the FMC Alexis are all grey if not dark. It is not quite enemies to lovers as the description states, I would say it's more like loathing to attraction. This first book did not have much of a romance aspect, there was just sprinkles and teases to the romance that will probably build in future books. The Greek mythology aspect is also lacking, I would have liked to see more lore and mythology weaved into the story. From the description of the book, I expected the FMC to be... more. She is just a whiney teenage girl, through out the book I just wanted to yell "Girl, STAND UP." I could not get a read on Alexis' personality. I am hoping that she will come into herself and show more of her who she really is in the second book. The only time I enjoyed her character was when she stood up for herself or became violent. Jasmine Mas' writing style is very unique. She uses a lot of modern phrases and verbiage that some might find cringy. Reading Alexis' POV and some of the things she would say reminded me that this character is 19 and it shows. The author uses a lot of parentheses during Alexis' inner monologue and I found it to be a bit overused. The way Alexis' POV was written made it feel like it lacked dept and it was difficult to relate to her character. There were some things that I did laugh about like when Alexis said getting married at 26 would make her a child bride. I will say once again that I believe this series has potential. Sometimes you have to get through the first book to really enjoy the series and this could be the case. I had a love and hate relationship with the beginning of the book I felt confused like nothing was happening but a lot was happening. I did enjoy the fact that the book was written in multiple POVs it helps to understand other characters especially when the book is written in first person. The last third of the book really hooked me and kept me interested as the plot thickened and I do want to know what happens next on Alexis' journey.
