I feel that the gender balance has been way off so far and that's putting me off a bit. Naomi is the only real female character and the book has the typical problem of overly describing female bodies in a very male-gazey way.

although the overall setting is far less whimsical, so far, the disdain Alice shows for Peter reminds me of Emily Wilde in the best of ways, I'm excited to find out more!
