This was very cute.
My only annoyance was Sowell Bay being a made up place with very real surroundings of Puget Sound. I'm assuming this is meant to be Anacortes or maybe Shelter Bay, but it was driving me nuts sometimes lol.
Overall I recommend!

Ohmygod I’m not sure what I expected from this book as the final one in the trilogy, but the way everything seems like it’s coming full circle is jarring. Everything is connected. Everyone’s decisions have real, tangible consequences, even years later. Fonda Lee, the woman that you are 🤯
I’m not sure how my heart is going to come out looking after all this clenching and unclenching

A written book of lived experience to the author's son.
A beautiful, heart wrenching memoir of living as a Black Man in the US; from large-scale news to the smallest-yet-intrinsically deep racism embedded in the US and the psychosomatic and mental responses to living under such scrutiny and pain. Short but powerful read. Highly recommend.
