So, I’m a member of the Aardvark Book Club box, and this month they have the entire Tainted Cup series by Robert Jackson Bennett available in special editions - because of the way Aardvark is structured, this means it would only cost $40 for all 3 hardcovers, which is pretty sweet.
BUT - I already have the first one has a paperback, and I haven’t read it yet.
How good is this series? Should I go for it and sell them on eBay later if I don’t like them?
Any thoughts appreciated.
They also have another of my anticipated releases, Barbara Truelove’s new book: She’s A Doll . I loved Of Monsters and Mainframes so I’m excited to read her new book.
So…I suck at making choices - but I have heard amazing things about The Tainted Cup series, and as a mystery and fantasy lover it seems right up my alley.
Anyways thanks for reading😄💜

I recently DNF’d a book at 85% because I just wasn’t enjoying it and didn’t feel like powering through the ending. I left a written review but I felt kinda weird leaving a star rating since I didn’t finish it. I do feel like I got through enough of it to give it an informed rating, but I’m curious if others have a personal policy about rating books you DNF. Personally I think that if you’ve read more than half of the book you probably have enough info to rate it, but sometimes you don’t have to get that far in to tell that a book isn’t very good. I just wasn’t sure what the etiquette is surrounding DNFs so I opted not to rate it, but I want to know what others think!

A collection of the pilot books for popular series, for those of us who love to follow a character's journey for as long as an author will let us! Some of the below series have heavily debated starting points and book read orders--in those cases the pilot was selected based on what seems to be the most popular approach.

An introduction to the Romantasy genre, these books are part of the cultural zeitgeist or the 'canon' that many would recognize. Look for more niche titles in later Starter Pack volumes.

Dramatic battles, tense political intrigue, unique world building...and is that maybe some romance I'm sensing? These books are not Romantasy but focus primarily on the SFF elements. Romance is a subplot and may not appear until later in the series, but when it does, you won't be disappointed.
