If we must value timeline above all else, it is a great honor, to be living in the same one as this book

I am... slowly crashing out and unfortunately not in a good way. I'm just starting Chapter 18 and it's taken me maybe nearly a month to get to this point? (I'd have to go back and check when I first picked this up, but it's been FAR longer than I usually take). And I don't know. I truly fear this book is going to end up being something that could've been an email.
But I'm so terribly bored at nearly every curve and find myself just.... incredibly withdrawn and passive about anything happening. I know there's some funky stuff going on in the world, and world building is definitely what Brandon is good at. But then I also find I simply don't care what's going on in the world because I feel absolutely no attachment or pull towards a single character? Elend and Vin in book 1? So much more fun, had some banter, we started to see more of them. And I just feel they've taken about 10 steps backwards in character development now to the point that I have stopped caring what might happen to them.
Idk. Brandon has been putting me in a giant ass slump. And if I set this aside then I'll never come back and finish the book, which I do want to do. But it's giving absolutely nothing atp.

A collection of the pilot books for popular series, for those of us who love to follow a character's journey for as long as an author will let us! Some of the below series have heavily debated starting points and book read orders--in those cases the pilot was selected based on what seems to be the most popular approach.
