I’ve been seeing these crazy debates online about how people don’t always consider audiobooks to be real reading.
It makes me a bit sad because I think it’s amazing that stories can become more accessible through audiobooks.
It’s great that Pagebound has a feature to log audiobooks! It makes me want to try one for the first time, I just don’t know where to start.
Would you consider more comic style books or Webtoon stories to be real reading too? I’m really curious!

That’s a interesting simile...

Crown of Midnight (throne of glass book 2)
🗡️ 🏰 🔍 3.5/5 ⭐️ This was not as enticing as the first book. It wasn’t boring, I just don’t feel as connected to what Celeana was trying to do. Felt like a filler episode. I noticed a lot of repeated phrases and words, “armed to the teeth” for example was used more than once. It made the story feel junky. Like Maas wrote one good sentence and is milking it. That being said, the cringy 2010’s writing style has improved a lot. The first half was slow, and felt so focused on romance that the plot disappeared for a bit. The second half was a what kept me going. From a major character death (I cried) to a powerful chapter about the effect of said characters death (I cried even more) then getting to see Celaena in her assassin mode (finally), and making rash decisions. Safe to say, this was a tornado of me silently yelling at 400 pieces of paper. The very last chapter was full body chills- even though I already knew the twist was coming. Avoiding spoilers is so hard on social media,, but I also think Maas made this one pretty obvious. I’ll be reading Assassin’s Blade next,, almost wishing I had read it second because now, knowing how it ends, I’m less interested. Overall, a good, not great, second book. The best part was finally getting to see Celaena give us her brutal side- showing us why she’s the world’s most feared assassin.
