Anybody not a fan of writing reviews or just me? Lol I wish I have the energy to write reviews every time I finish a book but my attention span is so bad that by the time I finish the book, I already forgot a chunk of it. That's why I really love the forums. Write as you read.

A short novella about Philoctetes and Heracles' bow. It covers his journey to the Trojan War, Heracles' death, and his abandonment by the Greeks. Simple, brief, and okay for passing the time šā³

A gripping sequel š£ā possibly even tighter and more intense than the first. The dialogue is š„ and leaves you thinking š¤ North masterfully explores gender dynamics š©āš in a patriarchal world, where underestimating women proves fatal. Slight challenge: the large cast and dense mythology š can be confusing without prior knowledge.

There are a lot of questions about book recommendations or favorites, but what is the book(s) you absolutely feel repulsed by whenever you see it? Just want to add: i know everyone has their own tastes and that does not mean if one hated the book the other shouldn't has terrible taste, it is the matter of personal opinion. What doesn't sit well with me might be perfect for you :) this is just for fun and to know you all a lot better

Hey everyone! Iāve never really read horror before, and Iām super curious about it. I usually lean toward all kinds of genres, but I feel like crime and mystery come closest to horror in terms of atmosphere and suspense. What I find tricky, though, is imagining how a book can create the same level of fear or tension as a horror movie or gameāwhere the visuals, sounds, and music all come together to build that spooky vibe. With books, itās just the authorās words and my own imagination⦠which might actually make it even creepier? š Soo, do you have any horror recs that are good for beginners? My boyfriend owns Carrie by Stephen Kingāwould that be a decent place to start? Would love to hear your thoughts! Thanks in advance for any suggestions! šāØ

This picked up very quickly and is keeping its pace. The story flows pretty well with the background and details without getting too lost.

What the title says! I personally used to only read one book at a time until VERY recently - like the other week, lol. I used to worry about my attention being divided, but someone on here suggested that as long as they were two different genres, it would work out okay. So, I'm trying it out with the Hunger Games series and (currently) What Moves the Dead. If you read more than one, do you have a method to it? Can you read twenty fantasy books at once? A fiction and a non-fiction? I'm curious to know!

Somewhere between my never-ending TBR pile š and a plan to actually reduce it this year (which... isnāt exactly going great), Iāve decided that 2025 is the year I finally read Tolkien. š« But now Iām stuck on the big question: š§āāļø Do I start with The Fellowship of the Ring and go straight into the main trilogy? š Or do I begin with The Hobbit? š Or maybe follow the timeline of Middle-earth events instead? If youāve read Tolkien, how did you approach it? Would love your thoughts! š
