I have tried to read Monster Romance but so far it seems I'm picking up the erotic Romance/🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶+ ones... unless they're all like that? Is the point of the genre to have a lot of explicit sex scenes? I would love to find a slow burn, or at least open door? 🥲 Thank you!

What are your unhinged book cover icks?
I'm not talking stickers or people covers. I want the unhinged reason to not like a cover
For example: It gives me the biggest ick when it's a silhouette cover, and the designer has to include the name of who the silhouette is on the cover like we'll know who they are 😂

I recently moved and went through my bookshelf as I packed, using the need to box everything up as a reason to reevaluate the state of what I own and if I want to keep it. While doing so, I sold/donated a lot of books I haven’t looked at in several years but realized I also have some childhood favorites that I still just can’t bear to get rid of even I don’t look at them that often.
Which got me wondering if other people have those books and if so, what they are/why you still like them/keep them. Share below! (If you want, I mean!)

I honestly did not expect to cry at the end. This book took me several months to get through, often choosing to start and finish other books in between. I did enjoy the lyrical voice the author chose, and despite the first person POV, I also loved the description to settings and keeping the tone consistent. I'm not sure what was the issue I had with the book overall... maybe pacing? I did incorrectly assume that I wasn't connecting with the characters. Maybe not enough was happening to keep my interest. Not sure, will read one of S.T. Gibson's other books and see if I have similar issues.
