Absolutely adorable, sweet, cozy, and wonderful. I relished this lighthearted graphic novel filled with excellent representation (Deaf culture/ASL use), heartwarming, low-stakes storytelling, and the coziest of illustrations. A must read for a lovely time. Bonus points if you read with a nice cup of tea.

this is my first “project” book of 2026: where i take as long as I need to read a biggggg book/classic to try and keep my attention span intact and help use my brain more. Also learn more words and just read things I don’t typically read and so find it harder to fly through!!!

I’ve wanted to read this book for ages- and yes this was exacerbated by the guy who does the Hugh Jackman parody singing on tiktok- so I’m super excited to give it a try🥰

This was, overall, a cozy fantasy with fun magical elements and spicy romance. A unique story with nice plot points of main characters having to address and overcome past traumas to grow. I particularly liked the bookwyrm, Morton, who was an excellent addition to the story. I did not appreciate some of the writing style that felt too modernized and inappropriate for the more fantastical setting of the story. In particular, the slang words used in spice scenes that threw me out of the story some and especially the word “panties” which was used approximately fifty times throughout the story. 😬😬😬 Overall, 2.5/5 stars.
