Okay but I feel like there are STILL books missing from this quest 👀
Give me your: ✨ messy city romances ✨ yearning in crowded apartments ✨ late night subway/taxi vibes ✨ ambitious hot people emotionally spiraling ✨ rooftop scenes / bar scenes / “meet me downtown” energy
Basically if the city itself feels like a character… I want it 😭

Pleaseee give me your favorite book(s) that take place in Ireland! I love literary fiction, historical fiction, romance, a little fantasy and a tiny bit of sci fi! Mostly I’ll just read anything that place on the Emerald Isle! 🍀

If you're going to use toilet humor (no shade) and slick banter, don't make your readers need a goddamn dictionary every other page. It's pretentious android boring. DNF 51%

Like what is the exact criteria for a 5 star book vs a 3 star one😭 😭? I have an idea of how much I like a book but it is simply a problem of representing it in a numerical value, it feels like I have to make a ‘’correct choice’’ so I can truly depict how much I liked it or not.
Maybe I’m just stupid idk but it keeps me up at night, same reason for why I don’t rate movies on letterboxd

While I appreciated some glimpses of Iranian history through the lens of historical fiction, there were some upsetting elements of this book I was not prepared for, and did not appreciate (see trigger warnings in forums for possibly upsetting topics!). I did not find the main character particularly likeable or compelling, and felt her naïveté felt overly forced. The side characters felt underdeveloped, and I would have found some of their stories far more intriguing had they been the focus or even more fleshed out in this novel. Overall 3/5 stars.
