I decided to reread this… but try the audiobook. Hopefully the narrator starts to sound a little older as Ox gets to adulthood - that’s my only issue with the audiobook.

Another really enjoyable CJ Cooke book. I love how her novels do a good job of combining the supernatural with the real world. And this one was a true delight. I loved the dual stories that were happening. I Especially favoured the historical story of Alison and the Orkney Island witch trials (it was a special interest of mine when I visited Scotland). CJ did a fantastic job of bringing to life the horror that people accused of witchcraft faced in Scotland. The modern day storyline was interesting and I wanted to solve the mystery of Erin, just like Clem. I do wish they had more of a crossover.
Overall if you like real life witch trials and a good mystery this story will definitely be a great read.
