So I started with Syl because I don't have the flip over version and I think because of this I prefered her story. Maybe because I learned her story and journey first I felt more intune with what she went through. Anyone else feel like this?

Definitely darker than God of Fury⌠like from the jump between Glyn and Killian was way more dark than anything Niko and Bran got into.

I had held off on reading this for nearly 2 years. And it wasnât necessarily worth the wait but it was a fun read. Definitely worth the time invested and worth a read to anyone who has thoughts of giving it a go.
I definitely see this is as more fantasy with romance which is perfect because I became much more invested in the training, the rebellion and the world building. However saying that I definitely think that some of the language used felt anachronistic and was jarring when modern phrases were used when everything felt set in a past universe. So that part was a bit weird.
As for characters of the central cast Violet was probably my least favourite. i just didnât care or connect with her. I was very drawn to Xaden, Liam and the whole crew of marked/tyrrish riders. I wanted more about them and the rebels. I even like Dain because heâs such a flawed, and torn character, like I would love to know what he is thinking.
I am looking forward to the next books as I want to see more of the world, the war and how the deception of certain characters is dealt with.

As a Canadian hockey loving mom to two toddlers it makes me sad that my kids might not get a chance to play because of how expensive the sport has become. Like hearing what parents do and how they act just because they think/want their kids in the pros. And then on top of that I worry for my son if he does play and get good like the hazing, the socialization and expectations of young men and just the environment that it breeds. Like less worried for my daughter as the women donât seem to have the same issues on their side.
