Hi everyone, as we are approaching the middle of the month, I wanted to do a little progress check-in and see how everyone is doing with their reading goals!
Do you feel like youāre on track with your reading goals for the month?
Whatās been your favorite read in March so far?
Do you have any plans in particular for the rest of the month?
Personally, Iām a little stressed because I still have like a million books left on my plan for March but I think I will be able to get to all of them. š¤š¼
My favorite book of the month has been Mad Sisters of Esi by Tashan Mehta by far. Such a gorgeous book with beautiful writing that Iām already itching to reread and annotate. A Beast Slinks Towards Beijing by Alice Evelyn Yang is probably a close second. Absolutely phenomenal.
My plans for the rest of the month include reading some books for my quests, reading some new releases Iām really excited about, and hopefully finally reading the entirety of the Earthsea Cycle series by Ursula Le Guin.

I loved this festival because it allowed me to know more about Geisha's narrated by someone who lived it, not with an occidental approach. I haven't read Memoirs of a Geisha and preferred to star with this one. I would like to read more about the past of the Geisha's who lived before Mineko and how their traditions and experiences changed across time. I liked a lot how it was really visible that she was trying to correct many misconceptions.

What have you learned through your reading this week? Whether it's a tidbit about yourself or a fact about the world!
My tidbit is that I realized as much as I LOVE continuing to learn - I really don't like feeling lectured at in a fiction book.

wow, just the introduction alone made me cry, i have read before of mental patients feeling the need to preform in order to receive care, but the fact that this also extends to physicians, truly, to be a woman is to preform, i think this is a valuable read specially during march, if you have this one in your TBR, this is a sign to start reading it!

What do you do when you enjoyed a book that gets pretty low and harsh reviews?
Sometimes I feel bad that I wasnāt reading (and thinking) as critically as I could have when tons of reviews come out with lots of valid and thought-provoking critiques on a book that I somehow completely missed with my experience of it.
