I was really concerned when I started legendary and found that the main focus of this book was Dontella and not Scarlett because Dontella from Caraval was unbearable but surprise surprise she was actually really likable in this book.
3 words Family, love and Caraval
Family because Dontella was determined to find her mother, Paloma who had abounded her and her sister as children.
Love because of all the betrayals and lies that had infiltrated the world of Dontella and Scarlett, from count Nicolas d'Arcy's too perfect letters who had Scarlett devoted to the idea of being wedded to him to gain the freedom of both her and her sister or Julian who's more lies than truths. Dontella and her fear of making any sort of connections with other men that would go beyond a few kisses and a good time.
Caraval, the game that keeps on giving but this time the game is complicated, too many things at stack and more risks araise with the bargain that Tella made with a mysterious criminal. Caraval is more real this time and If Tella wants to survive then she must deliver the real name of the Master of Caraval. Players were told to not get swept away; 'Caraval is not real' but not this time.
Ahhh this was a lovely experience truly, I had thought maybe I wouldn't like it because Caraval didn't magically do it for me but I really liked legendary. The pacing was really good even though I could feel some of the things repeating itself over and over but I know it's probably to increase volume and drag the book to a pinch mark and you know what?? I didn't really mind because I was having a good time.

I will never be the same person who started this book, I will never forgive ✨Victoria Schwab✨ for this one (you're brilliant, you tore my heart out like a Malchai).
