Well, Paladin's Grace was as good as everyone said and gave me such a cozy happy boost I had to immediately start this one. I just wonder if the subplot of the last book will be resolved in this one or becomes the underlying story current of the whole series...

I was taking a look at my old hunger games books yesterday that my family got when the series first came out and comparing them to the new copy of the first book that I got fairly recently. The old paperback copy of the book was only $9 while the new one was $16.99!! It's just so saddening to me that book prices have rose so much to a point where so many are inaccessible to people now. Hardcovers are especially bad right now too as some are upwards and above $30. What are y'all's thoughts on this, i'm just so tired of everything getting so much more expensive, especially my favorite hobby 😭

When you guys think of an “unreliable narrator,” who do you first think of? What books/characters?
I had made a post about this topic on the Mockingjay forum as well but thought it would be interesting to ask here. I have seen Katniss referred to as an unreliable narrator before but I personally disagree, won’t go into detail in here again lol but just made me curious as to who everyone else thinks of. I personally think of The Yellow Wallpaper or Life of Pi.

I think this was a fun book, not too character driven and not too fatalistic as is often the case with sort of eldritch horror books. I do think the ending was a bit weak, and characters could have been described a bit better; as far as I can tell it uses the same exact pattern each time. I liked the ominous plinths, but struggled a little to be continually engaged and enthralled by the story.
