  • • Non-Bookish Hobbies •

What hobby or hobbies do you enjoy outside of the bookish hemisphere? 🏓

Mine are walking and biking trails at nearby local parks, learning languages, film photography and bread tag collecting.

I have also been thinking of taking up a racket sport but there are plenty of good options out there, I am finding it challenging to zero in on a single one to dedicate my time to learning!

  • Libby App Personalization

I was browsing the Libby app's blog on their official website today when I had learned about a feature that I believe may greatly interest fellow Boundlings! Did you know that you are able to rename your library cards to your liking and customize their dual-tone colors to ones that you prefer instead? :O I found this to be extremely useful as I manage multiple cards that had similar color combinations between each other.

    • Open the Libby app.
    • Tap on the "Menu" tab (at the bottom; central button).
    • Locate the "Your Libraries" section and scroll past your list of library cards.
    • At the end of said list, tap "Manage Cards".
    • Here, you have arrived. You will see a library card of yours being displayed. Under it, there is a "Personalize" text (with a droplet icon to the right of it.) Tap any of this in order to change the colors (a total of 32) and a bar at the bottom of the palette that you can interact with to switch which color is on what side of the card.
    • To change the name: Tap out of the color palette and locate the horizontal ellipsis icon found on the bottom right corner of said card being displayed (also referred to as the meatball menu). You will be given a list of options; proceed to tap on "Rename Card".
    • To continue to customize all other cards you may have, remain where you are and tap on the rectangular bar at the top of your screen, which will display the current name of the card that you are viewing (with a smaller library card icon to the right of it to match.) Tap this; a list appears of all of your library cards (similar to when viewing them under the Menu tab mentioned earlier) that you can scroll through, tap and repeat.

I will attempt to edit this post in a few moments if I am able to figure out how to add a link to the Libby blog post that I am referring to that contains the simplified instructions.

  • • Bookish Careers & Dreams •

    Highly curious to know! 📚

    • What book-related job or career are you currently in, previously had or dreaming of?
    • Did you pursue an education or was it experience that helped you acquire the role(s)?

Thought it would be super fun for those who work with books to share their experiences and for anyone exploring bookish options/paths to discover what is possibly out there for them.

I read Unwind by Neal Shusterman when I was about 10-12yo.

  • What book got you into reading?

What I love about PB is that every single reader is here because they love reading and they love books. There is such a beautiful sense of community on this site/app, but tell me what was the book that got you into reading or back into reading.

I want to create a post full of stories about the beginning of your reading journey and maybe someone will find inspiration or even a recommendation in your comment ✨
