Obviously, this was originally supposed to be the last book, but that was split so we'll have a 7th book. That being said, this book was ridiculously long. After having the cliffhanger from book 4, which kept going through book 5 from Cas' point of view, into several hundred pages into this book to have Poppy wake up is a bit much. I enjoyed book 5 as an extra thing, at least it contributed to the story some, but the beginning of this book was drawn out.
Once Poppy was awake, she shifted into another dimension, which isn't outlandish for the world created from this series and our companion series focused on Nyktos and Sera. However, ripping you from fantasy into reality was too much for me. Not only does it not fit, it takes you right out of the story because it's not what we know from 10 books worth of content (11, if you want to count the encyclopedia created). That part really upset me, so much that I wanted to slam the book shut and walk away. Thankfully it was only 2 chapters, but it was being referenced several times so it annoyed me further. I would have been content if it was some other random realm, but modern day, absolutely not. I've put too much time into reading these books and enjoying them to not try and keep reading.
Also, this crap between Cas and Keiran was so drawn out it also annoyed me. They need to get their shit together. And of course, they each have their points and feelings, valid. However, of course they decide to deal with it when Poppy is barely there and now we have the ending we have. A mess and a classic cliffhanger.
I love when Poppy and Sera finally met. Getting to know their characters from each of the series and see the awkwardness from both, felt right. I can't wait for Poppy and Nyktos to get to know each other, but honestly, I want her to be able to have a relationship with her father. I'm enjoying how both series are now meshing together and we're seeing characters from both sides.
I like how the majority of the plot is unfolding, leading towards the ultimate ending. I just hope more characters don't die along the way, but they probably will.
This book was unnecessarily long and I wish several aspects of the plot were sped up, because please let's get to the point. It'll be interesting how things play out in the final book (if it's truly the final book).

I'm just worried about Hello. That kitty needs stability. Honestly they all do, but that poor cat.

I just saw the total number of pages is 1,288. This was originally the last book, but they said they decided to split it into 2 books. This is splitting it?!

I had kept hearing about this series and was skeptical to try it. Even a coworker recommended it to me and I finally decided to give it a shot.
I enjoyed it more than I thought it would, but it took me a bit to get into. The beginning was quite slow and I was waiting for something hook me in. Eventually, the pace picked up and I was in. I thought the story was cute and can’t wait to read the next one.

At this point, I've read this 3 times. Once with a physical copy, twice listening to the audiobook.
I will say reading this is pretty hard due to the language of the time, but seeing the movie beforehand helps you wrap your head around the story and flow. This story is relatively slow to medium paced, so you can get stuck in a few places.
However, I do love the story and I will shout out to Indira Varma for narrating one of the audiobook versions of this book. I'm really picky when it comes to audiobooks because sometimes people are too monotone or say things weirdly so I get taken out of the story being told and focus on how they’re saying things. Indira's version is great and I highly recommend if audiobooks are your thing.
Obviously, Pride & Prejudice is a classic that so many people love, but the more I come back to this story, the more I enjoy it. It's every day people judging each other so quickly and coming to conclusions about the other so fast that they miss opportunities. They're stuck in their ways and their worlds without taking a leap or actually getting to know others very well.
Elizabeth and Jane are incredibly close. Elizabeth sees how Jane falls in love with Bingley even though she's incredibly shy and doesn't show her feelings very well. She meets Darcy and sees how pompous he can be and decides he's a villain from there. Given he does do some things thinking he's in the right, she has some credit there.
The Bennet family is a bit of a wild one. They don't have a lot of money per say, and with all daughters, they know that all of Mr. Bennet's money will go to the next heir. Enter Mr. Collins and his weirdness. He's off-putting but is looking for a wife in one of the Bennet sisters to appease Lady Catherine and I think to fulfill a role.
Lydia, Kitty, and Mary all have their own things going on, but more focus is on Lydia and her bad choices. Mrs. Bennet's main focus is getting each of her daughters hitched, so she's joyous when Lydia is officially married, setting aside and not caring how she got there. Mr. Bennet can’t let it go, rightfully so.
Jane and Elizabeth get their own happy endings after everything that goes on in between.
