I was talking to a friend today and recommended a book to her and she told me she really doesn’t like to read series that much. Her answer was basically because it’s just too much for her. Whereas I’m the opposite. I LOVE getting hooked into a series and following the same story and characters thru multiple books.
Which one are you? And why? I would especially love to hear if there’s any others out there who also avoid series but obviously I also love to hear why people love series of books like I do lol
Rose_Warrior finished reading and wrote a review...
"Sometimes I feel like one day every other girl was given instructions on how to grow up, and I missed the lesson." This was an unexpectantly brilliant read! This book is like being thrown around on a crazy ride and half the time I found myself thinking "What is happeningggg?!" - but in the best way possible. If you're looking for a fun read with lots of twists and turns, this book is it. I need to know what happens next!!!
I like the way the author writes and the manner in which she handled the additional POVs was something I have not yet experienced - I found it refreshing and done well.

I know there's been quite a few posts recently with regards to e-readers, but most people recommend Kobo, which doesn't seem to be available (or any other brands for that matter). The only two I am able to find - at least from a trusted shop - are: Kindle (a variety of models) Boox Go 7 (B/W or Colour (Gen II)) I have never owned an e-reader as I've always been a physical book person (but there's no denying the pros of ebooks), so I have zero experience and have only recently started considering it.
Questions:
Anything else regarding e-readers that newbies need to know / consider?

I love reading novels set in India or an alternative India. I find it so cool what authors can do with my culture. Mostly I've been reading books by NRI authors and I don't mind it because I love seeing the way authors that don't live in their home country or are second generation immigrants connect with the culture they've always felt distant from. However, I can't help but notice, that despite the constant preaching about connecting with your culture and homeland, they kind of dumb down the plethora of names they could have used for their main characters?
Most of the time it's some variation of Riya, Priya, Rani or something like that. Basically names that are upper caste and easy to pronounce for the western audience and it kind of makes me feel sad because there are so many beautiful names in south asia that don't get representation. Like the Authors themselves have such beautiful names and then their characters are Riya, Priya or Rani. I feel like your audience will learn to pronounce your character's names. If they can pronounce names from high fantasy novels then they can learn to say Mehr, Vritra, Dhrishti, Seerat, Dopdi or Draupadi, blah blah blah.
What are your thoughts on this?

Kinda ironic that Elizabeth is doing the exact same thing that she accused Mr. Darcy of - "implacable resentment," upon forming a bad opinion of someone it's hard/impossible to get out of that. Even when Jane reasons with her that it's fishy that Mr. Darcy is as bad as Mr. Wickham suggests, she refuses to listen.
It's also getting clearer why this book is named Pride & Prejudice! There are so many instances of the blindness and willful overlooking we all do when forming opinions of someone else. If there's a beautiful man with beautiful manners it seems everyone just insta-trusts him 😆

Maybe in a future update they can add a TBR jar feature?
It could be a little jar icon next to the number of unread books. When we don't know what to read next we could click on the jar and it'd show us a random book from our TBR list. If the book is in the middle of a series, we could start with the first book.
