So I recently just finished one book, and it has a follow up. But I also have a bunch of books that I've bought that I haven't read yet. So how do you all decide what your going to read next? Is it on feeling? Or do you base it off of how interested you are in a certain author? Genre? Subject? Ect.

What are the tropes that you have come across and it ruined your whole reading experience of the book? Or gave you an ick? Or you just really judged the author?
For me, it had always been cheating. I find that in fiction, you can build your own perfect or imperfect world, you create your own rules and your own people. You set the story on your own, you are the one who decides the fate and destinies of your character. How do you willingly put two people destined to be together who are each other's "true" loves and make them cheat whether on the main love interest or side character? I can excuse it when a mc cheats on their partner if they are shittiest person in the world, but some of these authors write such great partners of the mcs and make them cheat on them. And we are supposed to root for the new couple that got together through infidelity?

my earbuds have been missing since 10pm last night but i didn't realize until 3 and a half hours ago. guess who's spent the last three and a half hours looking for her earbuds? 🙋♀️
now, you may be asking: how is this related to books? you see, tomorrow i have the day off. i was planning on getting through some cleaning by putting on an entire audiobook. now that i am convinced my beats studio buds have grown little legs and found a new home, my plans are being derailed. my cleaning won't get done. my life will fall apart.
i would put it on a speaker, but there are two other people working from home and my house is... small. i could go out and buy new earbuds, but the nearest store selling any is half an hour away. plus, my phone's been finnicky with new Bluetooth connections, so there's a decent chance that wouldn't work either.
please, my non judgemental Pagebound friends: where are some weird places you've found things? it doesn't have to be earbuds; i'm desperate. if it helps at all, i did put empty glasses in the fridge the other day and didn't realize until hours later. (yes, i checked in there already)

I was just curious about the other people of the community!
My main hobby is writing and drawing, I think. The Hobby i have done the longest and the most seriously (but now, I am on a break) is Cosplay/costume making. I have been singing since I was a kid, and absolutely love standing on stage.
My favourite genre is horror (any sort), and it crosses over into my other hobbies A LOT.

When I was a kid, my absolute favorite books were the Moorchild, Island of the Blue Dolphins, and A Little Princess. I haven't read them as an adult, except last year I listened to the audio book version of the Moorchild, which of course gave me a whole new perspective on it but which I still loved.
This made me want to reread my other two favorites, and then I got to thinking, how fun would it be to have a kind of forum or read along or challenge where we revisit books from our childhoods 🥹
So I wanted to ask what books everyone enjoyed as a kid and if anyone would be interested in rereading their favorites 🤗
