I have heard some of you guys are mood readers, I was wondering how you explain mood reading is? Is it ambiance, the genre, intensity, plot or character focus? Iām so curious how many of you categorize the books! I think I also might be a mood readers, I thinkš but I donāt know what my moods are like. What mood are you guys currently reading?

I feel like I used to be able to rely on reviews and book recommendations SO much more than I can now. I joined Goodreads in 2012, and back then, when a book had a 4+ star rating, there was an almost guarantee that I would at least like the book enough to finish it. Nowadays, I feel it's a 50/50 shot at best. I don't know if BookTok or the obsession with books that primarily focus on smut rather than substance has anything to do with it (don't get me wrong, I do like my smut from time to time), but I'm curious if anyone else feels similarly. One of the main reasons I love PageBound is that the platform isn't completely saturated with the same kinds of readers, and there is an opportunity to rate books on more than one aspect. I think it's great to be able to rate how much you enjoyed a book separately from its quality (which I know quality is also going to be based on opinion, but at least there is an opportunity to separate the two a little).

Iāve started listening to this on my commute to and from work. So far I think his plan is worth a shot trying. Itās sound advice and nothing he is suggesting is outlandish or unrealistic to follow. I know for sure I wonāt be rich at the end of 6 weeks but itās a good place to start. Already started step 1 as soon as I got home from work.

I just wanted to say that I have really, really, REALLY been loving Pagebound and the community within. I have always read for myself; most of my friends aren't big readers etc. I feel like I've made pals here, and it's made me actually excited to continue with books, write about it, and interact with everyone! On social media, I'm not typically one for interacting with people/pages but it's different here. I'm still relatively new here but I just appreciate this so much. ā„ļøā„ļø

When your loan is about to end and you're not even halfway through the book, do you power through and finish the book asap or do you place a hold again?

I haven't finished this books yet, but I am enjoying it so far! I knew this author was very popular but just never got around to picking anything up by her. This was my book club's pick for the month so that is the reason I am reading it now. Anyways, what is everyone's favorite Emily Henry book? I am not a huge romance reader so could I skip out on her other books? Or would I miss out on one of her better books?

How long do you guys wait between reading a book and writing a review? Historically, i've done so immediately, but I often find myself coming back to my review and editing it after i've sat with it for a little while, especially if I engage in forums/other content and realise that I have misunderstood something or there was a little more nuance than I picked up on.

I was on the fence in the beginning about the plot of the story and just did not feel the same interest for the FMC the way I did in the first book. I was pleasantly surprised and entertained as the book began to pick up. This book offered alot of unexpected twists and shock. A little bit outlandish but that is to be expected from a fiction. Erin Craig does an amazing job at setting us up in scenery and atmosphere of the story. You can almost imagine the scent of the room as you read.

So, I really enjoy making excels that I update my reading on along with my updates on storygraph and on here, I have an excel of all my owned books, of my TBR list and all my reads, there's just something satisfying for me to fill an excel relating to books. Anyone else who does this or are the apps enough for you?

So does anyone else actively seek out spoilers or is it just me?? For instance, I had a friend who read a book I was interested in - romance with POC main characters that seemed to be a why choose - and I asked them for a full plot rundown because I wanted to be sure it was something I would enjoy and not a case of a book description fishing for reads. I absolutely 100% believe hiding things behind a spoiler tag is something people should be doing to avoid revealing anything to those who've yet to read the book. But with the limited time I have for reading, and a TBR that's already long enough to reach the moon, sometimes I just want to know if the time I invest in a book is going to be worth it to me. Anyway, anyone else do this or something similar??

Hey everyone! We have exactly one month left in the Spring Readalong, which means Summer 2025 Readalong picks have officially dropped. You can see all 5 selections over on the Discuss tab :) We've also squeezed in some web updates between app development: - You can now see the publication year on the Book Page below the description. Some of these dates may be the edition's pub date rather than the original publication year; this is a known data issue so apologies in advance! It will be sorted out as we get more robust book data. - Various bug improvements including preventing double user follows We have more requested feature updates in the pipeline; I'll be back soon when they're released! Happy Reading, Jennifer & Lucy šš PS - Our community has grown so much over the past few weeks and it has been SO fun to watch everyone connect and interact. Thank you for making Pagebound such an amazing place and welcoming in our new members!!
