Here. RIGHT HERE is why everyone recommends listening to the audio book over reading the physical book. 😭

    🧛‍♂️

I picked up Quicksilver after seeing the buzz on BookTok, and while it had some strong elements, I found it a mixed experience. The beginning drew me in with fast-paced action and a compelling introduction to Saeris, who was interesting (if occasionally frustrating). The world-building stood out, especially the blend of alchemy, Fae, and vampires, it felt fresh and unique. However, the middle of the book dragged. The plot stalled for several hundred pages, and even when events were happening, it felt like nothing was truly progressing. I also couldn’t connect with Kingfisher, though Carrion added some much-needed levity and became a favourite. The final chapters finally picked up the pace, and the ending delivered a satisfying twist. Overall, it’s a book I’d recommend to fantasy readers who enjoy spicy scenes and don’t mind waiting for the payoff.
